With a focus on conversation, culture and relevant vocabulary, this course will aid health caregivers
in communicating with Spanish speaking patients. The instructor is Graciela Echeverria-Hanley who is
a native speaker from Ecuador.
The class is open to all caregivers—RN, PCT, MD, clinic staff, front desk staff, etc. Anyone who
interacts with patients is encouraged to attend. Enrollment is limited to facilitate conversation.
All classes are held in the Parenting with Providence Classrooms at Entrance #5 on campus. (This is a
grey, one story building directly south of the main hospital and next to the main employee parking
garage. There is a large #5 on the front) Providence Employees are asked to park in the employee

Level 2 Wednesdays, January 17- March 21, 2018 1100-1215 (meets weekly for 10 weeks)
“I took a couple years of Spanish in high school. I can conjugate verbs and have a basic vocabulary,
but carrying on a conversation is a challenge” or “I have successfully completed Level 1”
