Training Overview Description

Biography:

Capt Bryan Farthing began his Air Force enlisted career as a respiratory therapist on a Critical Care Air Transportation Team during Operation Enduring Freedom. He continues to serve in the Alaska Air National Guard performing occupational health exams for over 1600 guard members. At the Asthma, Allergy and Immunology Center of Alaska, he specializes in treating complicated asthma patients and directs the Biologics Program. Capt Farthing regularly presents for the University of Washington’s MEDEX PA Program, and other past speaking engagements include the Alaska State Annual PA Conference, Alaska State Respiratory Therapy Conference, and the Alaska State Asthma & Allergy conference.

Abstract:

This is a full- day, interactive, conference on asthma diagnosis and Alaska allergies. It will include research, clinical practice guidelines, and current articles. Case studies will be used to maximize understanding, retention, and provide a real time evaluation of conference content. Attendees will demonstrate increased:
* Competency interpreting PFT
* Knowledge of asthma therapy and allergy treatment options
* Knowledge and use of Biologics
