ABOUT THE CONFERENCE
An AAFA-AK Chapter Undertaking
In 2006, the Asthma & Allergy Foundation of America (AAFA), Alaska Chapter (AAFA-Alaska) organized its first Asthma & Allergy Conference. AAFA-Alaska is pleased to present its 13th Annual Alaska Asthma & Allergy Conference occurring September 7-8, 2018.
Directed by the AAFA-Alaska Board of Directors and supported by AAFA-Alaska Staff, an Organizing Committee forms annually to recruit expert presenters from Alaska and notable speakers from across the nation. The result is a two-day agenda packed with evidence-based research in asthma, allergy and immunology; current best practices; and recent advancements in the treatment and management of asthma and allergic disease. The conference goal to educate Alaskan health care providers — physicians specializing in pulmonology care, family medicine, pediatrics, internal medicine, and asthma, allergy and immunology, as well as nurses, respiratory therapists, dietitians, and other medical specialties — about asthma and allergy management.
The conference is among several programs underscoring AAFA-Alaska's mission:
The Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America, Alaska Chapter is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the quality of life for people affected by asthma and allergies through education, collaboration with community resources, support and research.
